AJ Small Projects will launch tonight (Thursday 24 October). Come and join us for drinks, canap\u00e9s and views over the City of London to celebrate one of our most popular awards at Gensler\u2019s offices in Thomas More Square, E1.<\/p>\n

Register for the launch party of AJ Small Projects 2025<\/a><\/h3>\n<\/div>\n

AJ Small Projects first launched in 1995<\/a> with Anthony Grimshaw Associates winning the inaugural award in 1996 for Garden Gazebo. Since then, costs may have risen but the intention has remained the same: to give much-deserved recognition to schemes realised at a more modest budget.<\/p>\n

From home extensions to workspaces, restaurants to shop fit-outs, pavilions to small houses, architects all over the country are busy working on projects that may not make headlines but nevertheless demonstrate the strength of design talent across the UK today.<\/p>\n

Run in association with our long-time sponsor Marley, AJ Small Projects 2025 celebrates completed projects with a contract value of \u00a3399,000 and under.<\/p>\n

Earlier this year, Hayatsu Architects with Grizedale Arts<\/a> won the 2024 award for The Farmer\u2019s Arms Cold Food Store. The scheme was built on the side of a former pub in the Lake District for a local arts organisation specialising in crafts.<\/p>\n

The jury was impressed with the \u2018cultural exchange\u2019 presented by the project, which they noted could only have been delivered by a Japanese architect working in the particular UK setting. They also acknowledged the embrace of the project by the Grizedale Arts charity and the local community.<\/p>\n

Artefact received a highly commended for its Triangle House project while the Sustainability Award was awarded to Topo Architects for The NewBridge Project in Newcastle.<\/p>\n

Commonbond Architects took the People\u2019s Choice Award, for its Gardenhide Studio.<\/p>\n
