The \u2018playable\u2019 area features iconic landmarks including St Paul\u2019s Cathedral, Tate Modern, and Shakespeare\u2019s Globe Theatre.<\/p>\n<p>Fortnite players can design their own buildings on four sites on the island, choosing between six building types \u2013 walkway, structure, park, commercial, office and residential \u2013 and then placing voxels (3D counterparts to pixels) of these types within the building site.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Players define the shape and category of buildings by placing voxels, while the new system automatically generates realistic structures,\u2019 explained Epic. It added that ZHA had \u2018designed the modular pieces, and set the rules for how these pieces fit together, enabling the creation of buildings much larger than a single voxel\u2019.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-756777\" 1920px) 100vw, 1920px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>ZHA said that players in the survivor-builder game could now explore London as a \u2018co-operative multiplayer experience\u2019 and, at the same time, learn how to negotiate \u2018the complexities of the urban condition to build collaboratively in a contemporary context\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>The project aims to explore the use of Epic&#8217;s 3D editor, dubbed the Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN), for \u2018practical applications in architecture\u2019, as well as \u2018pool creator talent\u2019, across industries.<\/p>\n<p>The UEFN is a PC-only editor which enables 3D viewport workstyles to be used with the creation tools found in Fortnite Creative.<\/p>\n<p>Re:Imagine London\u2019s modules incorporate \u2018recent advances in construction technologies\u2019, according to ZHA, while \u2018showcasing a parametric approach to environmental and contextual performance\u2019 through varying typologies, lighting and materiality.<\/p>\n<p>The firm says the project \u2018continues ongoing research applications by ZHA\u2019s Computation and Design Group (ZHACODE) in urban planning, platform design, spatial content creation, configurators,
